Overlooking Lake Powell_11 x 14" Oil Landscape

© Donna Pierce-Clark Page, Arizona is a beautiful place! I have a nice stash of photos from our trip in 2008, Funniest Story! On our lake cruise, there was a cute little older gentleman from the UK, who commented about my camera going non-stop (rapid fire!! click, click, click). I didn't think too much of it, until the next day, we went on another trip into the slot canyons of Page, Arizona. We were making our way through the twists and turns through this gorgeous area of light and shadows of oranges and rusts, of red earth dust and tumble weeds, and out of the blue, I hear that little man, saying, in his darling English accent, "What? It's the camera lady!" (he was so cute) Next up, after this one, is a 2 x 3 Feet Oil, on stretched canvas of: Rainbow Bridge (also near Page, Arizona). I hope to have it for you to see by next week.

Middlefork Reservoir II, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, Oil Landscape

Middlefork Reservoir II, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, Oil Landscape © Donna Pierce-Clark This is the final Middlefork Reservoir painting, the third one. And it's a tiny one! Can't you just feel the rain drizzling onto the lake? Although overcast and rainy, I was well protected in the little covered deck area of the bait shop/concession stand.

Making Wake on Indian Lake, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, Oil Landscape

Making Wake on Indian Lake, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, Oil Landscape "click to bid" © Donna Pierce-Clark Making Wake........in our boating days we made a lot of wake! I loved staying on the boat all day, soaking in the sun, speeding as fast as I could, to pull Dennis on his skiis. We're older now. Now, we fish and paint :) The sun was gently setting and casting beautiful pink and orange hues onto the water and into the sky. Dennis was fishing, While I painted and enjoyed watching boaters, ski-doers, and one sweet little family of 3, who were also fishing nearby Dennis. The father was busily fishing, the mother sat quietly reading, while the little boy ran from one to the other "Mommy, come look! or  "Oh, Daddy, what's this?" So cute!
Middlefork Reservoir III, 2.5 x 3.5in, Oil Landscape © Donna Pierce-Clark Just a tiny one! This was from our trip to Indiana a week or so ago. It was an overcast, rainy day; but the meal that The Indiana Plein Air group had for us was delicious! We were under a huge tent, and the fellowship was perfect! Painters & fishermen too! ***** DUSK ON INDIAN LAKE (click here to bid)

"Sheltered" 24 x 18in. Oil still life © Donna Pierce-Clark, 2013 Yesterday, a huge and horrific storm blew through the area. The dog, the laptop, the iPhone and myself headed for the basement. I was painting away on this particular painting, but not for long. Soon, the basement went nearly dark (I had lit a candle just in case). So, being the driven artist that I am, I lit a second candle and an oil lamp, just so I could continue painting! When an artist is on a roll, in the zone, nothing will stop her! Hence, the name "Sheltered"was born.  I'm truly enjoying working in the studio. It is as joyful an experience as it is to paint outdoors. They both have their special moments. These larger pieces will only be on the website (not auctioned) and hopefully find a good "temporary" home in a gallery some time soon. From there, who knows where these gems will end up! As always, thank you for looking! Love, with
"Middlefork Reservoir" - 8x10in OIL -  click to bid Dennis and I went to the Middlefork Reservoir in Richmond, Indiana on Saturday. He fished a bit in the drizzling rain, while I painted under the shelter of a hilltop bait/concession building. It was a nicely designed building, with restrooms, and tables and chairs inside where we had lunch. What a relaxing day this was! I could look down from my sheltered painting perch and see beautiful vistas in any direction. After painting and fishing, we headed to the Richmond Art Museum around 4:00 to set up our finished paintings for the public to peruse and/or purchase. While the public enjoyed the many wonderful paintings (by Indiana Plein Air Painters), the artists and spouses enjoyed a fabulous cookout on the grounds of the museum. We met new friends: a fisherman neurosurgeon and his artist wife. How wonderful was that!
