  5. Ok. My memory of Christmas past was a mixed blessing. We had brought my brothers ashes home from Germany and had a Memorial service for him. As we celebrated a life lived and now gone we than celebrated with my adopted daughters baptism. She came all the way from Korea to grace our family. 27 years later she still is my best Christmas gift ever. I am signing in as anonymous because google isn't working. I am Wendy Kubokawa-Wells. Love your tree paintings.

  7. 2009 had been a very tough year for Jim and I. He arranged a surprise trip over Christmas, first to a mill inn that we had loved, and then on to Ogleby resort. The snow was perfect, deer walked up to the cars, and the sounds of Christmas were every where. Just before taking me down to the Christmas eve buffet, Jim dropped on his knee, and presented a Knot ring with a diamond in it, and said "I'm sorry for this past year, will you marry me again, and let's make next year better? " I almost passed out. I spent the rest of the holiday on cloud nine!

  9. I cannot remember any one Christmas that stands out in my mind but Christmas eve at my parents home with our children then gathering all of us including my parents and ending at David's parents for a complete Christmas celebration is a tradition I will never forget. So happy that our families were friends. David's mother is our only living parent now.

  10. I can't remember any one Christmas that stands out in my mind but I do remember David and I and the children having Christmas at my parents home then all of us including mom and dad would go to David's parents to end Christmas eve after midnight and of course eating at each stop. I am so glad that our parents were friends and that we could all celebrate together. David's mother is our only living parent now and those memories are precious.

    1. How blessed you were! And how thankful you must be to have one of them still with you. We have lost all of our parents (as of 2007). We miss them!! But, our home in Heaven is getting fuller and fuller of those we love and cherished years ago. I look forward to that day when we all will meet again! How exciting that day will be!

Evening Waterfall, 5 x 5 pen and ink, landscape

Liquid Visions - 30 Paintings in 30 Days Alcohol Inks on Yupo January 31, 2014 Evening Waterfall © Donna Pierce-Clark ~ Evening Waterfall, because of the metallics used, was a bit difficult to photograph. The owner of this one will have a hard time deciding the best lighting  and where to hang it because in different angles, Evening Waterfall has varied and beautiful presentations! ~ The whole 30 in 30 all in one place........ Touch of Pink, 5 x 7 oil, still life

Touch of Pink © Donna Pierce-Clark ~ Stages of Touch of Pink ~ First the drawing.....    ~ Then, the initial paint-in, just shapes and colors. ~ Then highlights and sparkles and dots! ~ On to the large easel........ ~ ~ Above is my large studio easel, on which I have started a 24" x 36" canvas in oils. We traveled to Rainbow Bridge on a river cruise several years ago and this canvas was actually begun soon after that trip. I think this poor canvas has been neglected for at least 3 years!  I am so happy to be back to this painting.  Below, you can see a few later stages of development and the photo reference on the computer monitor, from which I paint.  Ideally, I would prefer to be painting on location;  but, I'm happy to use the computer monitor for now. ~ To the left of the easel, I also have a still life table. If I am doing a large still life, I'll use this set up and the larger easel. At this time, howev
