This is the scene I enjoy every winter,
just outside my back door. The fields are resting
under a blanket of snow, waiting for spring.
A thing of beauty.
I hope you are looking for beauty in your surroundings.
No matter how large or small, there is
something beautiful to find. And, in my humble opinion,
I think we all should be looking for these moments.

Love this piciture...thing of beauty I have found is life itself, I try to find something good every day; this morning the sun was shining and reflecting off of the newly fallen snow how beautiful. Gloria Schurman
ReplyDeleteThere are many things, some beautiful places, the births of my babies, but the most beautiful thing I have gotten to be part of was helping the doCtor deliver my grandson. I was down with him, as I watched the head slowly emerge, and then his first breath and cry. That reddish white wrinkled form just broke into life! To top it off, I was given the gift to cut the cord. .. to perform the moment that Oliver became an individual being. .. no Longer attached to his mother's live giving body. I was able to pray over him art his first breath. What a glorious thing is bringing a baby into the world. And I think of Mary and Joseph, in Bethlehem, and what a glorious birth that was, too. Both buyers have changed my life!
ReplyDeleteWHOA! That is awesome, Christi!!!
DeleteThis is stunning. With the snowflake overlay and words of your choosing, what a Fabulous Christmas Card. I really love this scene..... a challenge to make it larger, but so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThere is beauty everywhere..... especially love walking on one of those wet days, boots, scarf and gloves well in place. Then letting my eyes absorb the color of tree bark, so rich, so alive. One tree the other day was truly Aqua...... a large Sycamore that reaches over the forest, adorned with Aqua amidst the orange, green, lemon, scarlet and blue colors all around. Beauty is all around and for whatever reason the gray days showcase the roses of winter - otherwise known as tree bark!
Great idea, Maggie, I should make that painting larger!! Yep, I should do that! Thanks for the idea!
DeleteI wrote about the Roses of Winter. On a wet day, boots, scarfs and gloves all in place; a walk through the forest reveals Aqua reaching to the sky, towering over the other trees. This one has long been in this Forest, on this hillside and is known as a Sycamore Tree. Today the overcast sky and wet cast a pure aqua on its bark. It does not stand alone it is surrounded by the rest of its color pallette, orange, lemon, scarlet, blues encompassed in shades of grey. Yes Tree Bark in winter becomes the Rose of Winter and beauty is all around.
ReplyDeleteRose of Winter........what a beautiful phrase!
DeleteI have seen and experienced so many beautiful things in my life. One thing that is forever etched in my memory was the first time I saw the Grand Tetons mountain range in Wyoming. They took my breath away. I had never seen anything so beautiful. I thought the Rocky Mountains were beautiful, but the Grand Tetons have an almost unearthly quality about them.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! These I have yet to see.........I'm getting an itch to go there!
DeleteI have seen and experienced many beautiful things in my life, but one of the most beautiful are the Grand Tetons mountain range in Wyoming. The first time I saw them I was speechless. They have an almost unearthly quality about them. I want to see them again!
ReplyDeleteA thing of beauty to me is "Nature". From a tiny frog in a pong to an eagle flying over the Grand Canyon. What could be more beautiful than a crisp cold morning with frost frozen on the trees and snow sparkling like diamonds across the year. The bright red cardinal at your winter feeder. Watching children building their first snowman of the year. Nature cures the blues is something of beauty everyday.
ReplyDeleteWe are "kindred spirits" as I also consider the bright red cardinal and your other thoughts as things of beauty!
