ReplyDeleteOur beautiful midnight Christmas Eve services at church, with the anticipation of Santa coming, and the excitement of our children seeing their gifts in the morning.
ReplyDeleteOk. My memory of Christmas past was a mixed blessing. We had brought my brothers ashes home from Germany and had a Memorial service for him. As we celebrated a life lived and now gone we than celebrated with my adopted daughters baptism. She came all the way from Korea to grace our family. 27 years later she still is my best Christmas gift ever. I am signing in as anonymous because google isn't working. I am Wendy Kubokawa-Wells. Love your tree paintings.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Wendy,
DeleteWhat a wonderful memory!!
But .... as anonymous, I can't send you a gift if you win! I hope you get this message and will write back?
The test worked. Would you like to post a REAL comment?
ReplyDelete2009 had been a very tough year for Jim and I. He arranged a surprise trip over Christmas, first to a mill inn that we had loved, and then on to Ogleby resort. The snow was perfect, deer walked up to the cars, and the sounds of Christmas were every where. Just before taking me down to the Christmas eve buffet, Jim dropped on his knee, and presented a Knot ring with a diamond in it, and said "I'm sorry for this past year, will you marry me again, and let's make next year better? " I almost passed out. I spent the rest of the holiday on cloud nine!

ReplyDeleteAh!! This is SO sweet!!! Every woman in the world should have an experience like this!! Thanks, Christi!
DeleteI cannot remember any one Christmas that stands out in my mind but Christmas eve at my parents home with our children then gathering all of us including my parents and ending at David's parents for a complete Christmas celebration is a tradition I will never forget. So happy that our families were friends. David's mother is our only living parent now.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember any one Christmas that stands out in my mind but I do remember David and I and the children having Christmas at my parents home then all of us including mom and dad would go to David's parents to end Christmas eve after midnight and of course eating at each stop. I am so glad that our parents were friends and that we could all celebrate together. David's mother is our only living parent now and those memories are precious.
ReplyDeleteHow blessed you were! And how thankful you must be to have one of them still with you. We have lost all of our parents (as of 2007). We miss them!! But, our home in Heaven is getting fuller and fuller of those we love and cherished years ago. I look forward to that day when we all will meet again! How exciting that day will be!
